Main point : do not disable or turn off software updates.
Some software updates adds new features, some fixes software issue / bugs ; so they are important from security point of view too. If software that we use are outdated, not updated on regular basis, then hackers gets chance to exploit vulnerabilities in such outdated software and depending upon attack type they can access your data, spread malware, or take control of your devices. Updates helps to fix these kind security issues too.
Operating systems, apps, and antivirus programs regularly release new updates to fix security issues and also improve performance. Disabling or turning off these updates leaves your devices exposed to new threats. To stay safe, if possible enable automatic updates, if not then check and run updates manually.
So, some update fixes issues, some update improves compatibility, some update provides new features, e.t.c. Yes sometime updating operating system/ software or games might be slow, irritating process, but note that it’s a simple and easy step to protect our devices / data and privacy.
